Zusammenfassung
Die Durchführung einer Anästhesie ohne sicheren Gefäßzugang ist heute undenkbar geworden. Jeder Patient benötigt mindestens einen periphervenösen Zugang, um Medikamente injizieren und Flüssigkeit infundieren zu können. Patienten mit Kreislaufinstabilität oder anderen schweren Erkrankungen werden mit arteriellen, zentralvenösen und ggf. pulmonalarteriellen Kathetern versorgt. Katheter im Bulbus der V. jugularis gestatten Rückschlüsse auf die zerebrale Perfusion und Oxygenierung. Dieses Kapitel gibt einen Überblick über die in der Anästhesie am häufigsten verwendeten Katheter.
