Zusammenfassung
Auf Social-Media-Plattformen werden wir täglich mit vernetzten Inhalten unterschiedlichster Art konfrontiert. Bilder, die online zirkulieren, stehen selten exklusiv für sich, sondern sind eingebettet in die Verdatungs- und Distributionsmechanismen digitaler Medien. Dieser Beitrag diskutiert methodische Variationen im Umgang mit user-generierten, web-distribuierten und plattformspezifischen Bilderwelten. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf die im Prozess der Bildzirkulation verwickelten Datenpraktiken. Zur Veranschaulichung stehen die im Zuge des Pornografieverbots auf Tumblr geteilten Memes im Zentrum einer explorativen Analyse mit digitalen Methoden.
