Zusammenfassung

In diesem Beitrag werden die Konstanten und Umbrüche der Afrikapolitik der USA sowie zentrale thematische und regionale Schwerpunkte dieses Politikfeldes behandelt. Zunächst werden die Hauptachsen der Afrikapolitik vorgestellt und im zweiten Teil historisch eingebettet. Nach einer kurzen Abhandlung des Kalten Krieges werden vor allem Oszillationen unter den Präsidentschaften von Bush Senior bis Biden herausgearbeitet. Im dritten Teil wird näher auf die Vielzahl der staatlichen und nicht staatlichen Akteure auf Seiten der USA eingegangen. Der vierte Teil hebt regionale Schwerpunkte in Afrika hervor, bevor im Fazit Erfolge und Schwächen der Afrikapolitik ausgeführt werden.
