Zusammenfassung
Phäochromozytome sind in der Regel benigne Nebennierentumoren, die aus chromaffinen Zellen des Nebennierenmarks hervorgehen. Phäochromozytome produzieren und speichern Kathecholamine, 10–15 % sind maligne. Klinisches Hauptsymptom ist eine arterielle Hypertonie, entweder in persistierender Form oder anfallsweise. Der laborchemische Nachweis gelingt durch die Bestimmung der Katecholamine und deren Metabolite im 24-h-Sammelurin. Bei organbegrenzten Phäochromozytomen ist die operative Entfernung Therapie der Wahl. Bei Inoperabilität oder metastasierten Erkrankungsstadien sollte konservativ therapiert werden.
