Definition
Mainstream finance – economics phrase used for describing schools and scientific achievements of finance discipline that are accepting neoclassical paradigm.
Heterodox – the notion of heterodoxy stems from the Greek héteros (different, other) and dóxa (doctrine). The term denotes those creeds, beliefs, or teachings, religious ones in particular, that are different from the norm of a given religion; they are the opposite of orthodoxy. In economics, heterodoxy pertains to an evolutionary approach to the economy.
