Rosa Cruz (Rose Cross)

Noun: the Rosicrucian symbol: a Rose (or roses) linked to a Cross. A member of a Rosicrucian organization. Rosicrucianism.

Rosicrucianism is a worldview deeply rooted in Western esotericism. Its basic ideal is the improvement of society through the evolution of individual consciousness. Although based on much older and diversified sources, it took shape in Europe in the early seventeenth century and eventually inspired many different groups. Presently, three international Rosicrucian organizations stand out in Latin America: AMORC, The Rosicrucian Fellowship, and The Lectorium Rosacrucianum.
