Abstract

This paper proposes a secure framework to solve the security related problems encountered in the integrated MANET-Internet communication. The proposed framework ensures mutual authentication of mobile node, foreign agent and home agent to avoid various attacks on global connectivity and end to end integrity to protect the network from most of the potential security attacks. It proposes a protocol that provides a mechanism for route discovery and maintenance between the mobile nodes present in different ad hoc networks connected at two different ends of the Internet. Security analysis shows that our proposed framework achieves good security while keeping the overhead and latency minimal.
