Abstract
In Europa gehören Hausstaubmilben sowie Katzen und Hunde zu den häufigsten Allergenquellen in Innenräumen. Dass es die Allergene der Hausstaubmilben sind, die die allergischen Erkrankungen durch die Inhalation von Hausstaub verursachen, wurde 1964 entdeckt. Die Diagnosestellung einer Milbenallergie wird häufig durch die oft unspezifischen Symptome, die sich zudem oft schleichend entwickeln und keineswegs immer anfallsartige Nies- und Juckreizattacken beinhalten, erschwert. Um die Belastung gegenüber Milbenallergenen zu erfassen, können immunologische Nachweisverfahren eingesetzt werden, die auf Antikörpern basieren. Mehr als 20 Allergene von Dermatophagoides (D.) pteronyssinus und D. farinae sind in ihrer Struktur und Funktion bekannt. Weitere relevante Innenraumallergene stammen von Säugetieren, die in Haushalten gehalten werden. Auch hier sind Allergene bekannt und Werkzeuge für Diagnostik und Expositionserfassung sind verfügbar. Schädlinge und andere „unerwünschte Untermieter“ in Innenräumen sollten bei unklaren Beschwerden in Innenräumen als mögliche Ursache nicht vergessen werden. Diese Kurzübersicht fasst aktuelle Kernaussagen zum Thema „Milben und andere Innenraumallergene“ zusammen. Der vorliegende Artikel gibt einen Überblick über die Inhalte mehrerer Beiträge eines Themenhefts der Zeitschrift „Allergologie“ [Februar 2015; 38(2)] zum Thema „Milben und andere Innenraumallergene“.
