Russian Chemical Bulletin Aims and scope

Abstract

A new combined bioactive silicon, zinc—glycerohydrogel was prepared by the sol—gel method using silicon and zinc glycerolates as precursors. The disperse phase of the hydrogel was isolated by exhaustive cold extraction and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscopy, atomic emission spectrometry, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis; and the model of the structure was proposed. The studied gel was shown to exhibit pronounced wound-healing and regenerative activity, possesses moderate antibacterial effect, and can be recommended for deeper studies with the purpose of including in medical practice.
