Aspects of the modification of refractory concrete with nanosilica

  • Published:
Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Aims and scope

Aspects of the modification of refractory concretes with different grades of Ludox nanosilica are discussed. It was established that the addition of nanosilica TMA to the binder in amounts no greater than 25% of the binder’s weight increases the strength of medium-cement concretes and alleviates their softening. The grade of nanosilica that is optimum for super-low-cement concretes is AS-40.
