Perspectives of Alloying Titanium Alloys with Rare Earth Elements

  • Titanium Alloys
  • Published:
Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

The effect of microadditives of rare earth elements on mechanical properties and refractoriness of titanium alloys is studied. The properties of a novel titanium alloy VT38 with an additive of gadolinium are compared to the properties of the most widely used refractory titanium alloys. The perspectives of alloying of titanium alloys with rare earth elements are considered.
