Abstract

A novel photocatalyst Ag/AgBr/TiO2 nanofibers was fabricated by means of combining solvothermal technique with photoreduction method based on the electrospun TiO2 nanofibers support. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, transmission electronmicroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, were used to characterize the as-synthesized photocatalyst. The as-prepared Ag/AgBr/TiO2 photocatalyst show excellent visible-light photocatalytic performance and good reusability for decomposing organic pollutant of methylene blue dyes in water. Significantly, the stability and recycling of the photocatalyst was also investigated. This study may provide a new insight into the design and prepared of visible-light photocatalytic materials.
