Abstract

The synthesis of a novel series of 5-fluoro-6-(4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)-substituted phenylbenzo[d]thiazoles is reported. These molecules have been screened against different bacteria and fungi strains. Among these, two compounds show excellent bacterial growth inhibition against Gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus with MIC 32 μg/cm3 compared to tamoxifen used as a positive standard.
