Abstract

The paper examines the temperature distribution during non-isothermal saturated flow through the porous media, with composite materials processing as the application that can immediately benefit. The analytic solution is provided for linear and radial flow. This solution includes the influence of transient effects, viscous dissipation and simplified internal heat generation. The solution analyzes the importance of the above mentioned effects. It shows, both by the analytic expression and numerical example, that a fairly accurate low order approximation of the temperature profile is possible everywhere except in the closest vicinity of the inlet.
