Fasting hyperglycaemia in insulin dependent diabetics

Summary

CLASSIFICATION by cause provided the basis for appropriate adjustment in treatment of 30 insulin treated diabetics, e.g.

Nocturnal Hypoglycaemia : Reduction of evening insulin dosage.

Insulin Fade: Insulin effect was prolonged either by :

  1. (a)

    Deferring evening insulin dose

  2. (b)

    Changing to an insulin of longer duration of action.
