Hydrolysis of oligodeoxynucleotide phosphodiester linkages

Abstract

The hydrolysis of 26-mer oligodeoxynucleotide (26-mer ODN) by cerium ions is reported. The process was analyzed by electrophoresis and the surface enhanced Raman scattering spectroscopy (SERS). Ce3+ could be oxidized to Ce4+ in oxygen atmosphere, and only Ce4+ could be used in the cleavage of ODN. We systematically studied the hydrolysis of ODN in various conditions.
