Cross-section for the reaction π− + p → n + particles for pions in the momentum range 0.78 to 5.3 GeV/c

Summary

We have measured the cross-section for the reaction π− + p yielding neutral final states in momentum range of (784÷5290) MeV/c of the incident pion. A table of cross-sections corrected for nonstrange processes is presented and a discussion of the 1688, 1920 and 2190 MeV resonances is included.

Si è misurata la sezione d’urto per la reazione π− + p che dà stati finali neutri, nell’intervallo di impulsi (784÷5290) MeV/c del pione incidente. Si riporta una tabella delle sezioni d’urto corrette per processi non strani e si include una discussione delle risonanze 1688, 1920 e 2190 MeV.
