Elastic scattering of heavy ions and energy storing in compressed nuclear matter

Summary

The physics leading from hydrodynamics to a nonlinear Schrödinger equation ∼ψ 3 is recalled. The final expression given previously is re-written in terms of a partial-wave expansion and the equation is solved numerically. Applications to the elastic scattering of heavy ions lead to a nice correspondence of the differential cross-sections to experiment and to consistent values of the nuclear compressibility modulus,K average=250 MeV +7.5%−15% .

Si riasamina la fisica che porta dall'idrodinamica all'equazione non lineare di Schrödinger ∼ψ 3. Si riscrive l'espressione finale data precedentemente in termini di una equazione d'onda parziale e si risolve numericamente l'equazione. Applicando lo scattering elastico degli ioni pesanti si ottengono un buon accordo tra le sezioni d'urto differenziale e l'esperimento e valori consistenti del modulo di comprimibilità nucleareK average=250 MeV +7.5%−15% .
