Photoelectric cross-sections for theL, M andN shells of uranium for photons of 122 keV

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento (1955-1965)

Summary

The internal-external conversion method has been used to find the photoelectric cross-sections for theL, M andN shells of uranium for photons of 122 keV. Results obtained areτ L=(360±40)b/atom,τ L I+L II/τ L III=3.1±0.35,τ L /τ M =4.55±0.44, andτ M /τ N+ =2.5±0.3. Theτ L value is higher than that predicted fromτ K when theτ K /τ L ratio is assumed to be energy-independent. Theτ L I+L II/τ L III andτ M /τ N+ ratios are in agreement with other results.
