π+p interactions at 1.6 GeV/c

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

We report a systematic study of π+p interactions at 1.59 GeV/c in the Saclay HBC 1801 at Saturne. The two-prong reactions enabled us to study ρ+ and\(\mathcal{N}_{33}^{* + + } \) production. These productions are compared with the predictions of the OPE model for the ρ+, and the Stodolsky-Sakurai model for\(\mathcal{N}_{33}^{* + + } \). In four-prong reactions,\(\mathcal{N}_{33}^{* + + } \) production is important, and we observed the associated production π+p→\(\mathcal{N}_{33}^{* + + } \eta \). Finally we give the cross-section values in all different channels.
