Summary
The analyticity properties of a two-particle te nperature-dependent equilibrium Green’s function are studied through the representation in a Fourier series. The branch cuts of the Fourier coefficient\(\tilde g_2 (\varepsilon _1 \varepsilon _2 , \varepsilon _3 \varepsilon _4 )\) are determined by the help of spectral decomposition. It is shown that the response of a particle density on an external field is determined essentialy by the spectral functions of\(\tilde g_2 \). These functions are in fact discontinuities across different branch cuts of\(\tilde g_2 \). The spectral functions which one needs for the study of density oscillation can be expressed with some functionsF m , which are simply connected with g2. From a kind of Bethe-Salpeter equation, a system of integral equations is derived for the functionsF m . The kernels in these equations are vertex functions which can be determined using perturbation theory.
