The photo-production of π+-mesons from protons

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento (1955-1965)

Summary

The photo-production reaction γ+p→n+π+ has been studied using the nuclear emulsion technique and a high-pressure hydrogen gas target. The differential cross-section has been measured at six photon energies from 170 MeV to 220 MeV in the laboratory system and at angles between 20° and 160° in the centre-of-mass system. Angular distributions are presented and also the energy-dependence of thea +0 coefficient. General agreement is found with previous data.
