Strictly speaking, the σ−/σ+ ratio does not depend on the coupling constant; however, it depends on an unknown parameterN (−) (see ref. (3)). The ratio 1.4 is obtained it this parameter is chosen to yield the observed value (4) of σ+ with a value off 2=0.08. SettingN (−)=0 gives a ratio of 1.3 but requiresf 2=0.06 to obtain σ+ correctly. On the other hand, ifN (−) is adjusted to give σ−/σ+=2.0, we would requiref 2=0.32 to achieve agreement with σ+.
