Summary
In the framework of the Lippmann-Schwinger collision theory, a general formulation of the nuclear-resonance problem is derived. The approach is based on the definition of a suitable Green’s function pertaining to the complete Hamiltonian of the nuclear system and on its analytic continuation in order to include the resonant states. The results here displayed are the following. As far as the collision matrix parametrization is concerned, our method provides results which coincide with those given by the Humblet-Rosenfeld theory; on the other hand, some features which characterize the dynamical resonance theories can be evidenced in our formalism.
