Improvements in biogalvanic energy sources

Abstract

The paper describes improvements made in biogalvanic energy sources, which significantly prolong their life and reliability. The results of long-termin vivo implants are presented, and comparisons are made between the original bare-metal biogalvanic sources and those which utilise a variety of semipermeable anodic membranes.

Cette étude décrit les perfectionnements apportés aux sources d'energie biogalvanique ayant pour effet d'en prolonger sensiblement la durée de vie et la fiabilité. On présente ici les résultats d'implantationsin vivo de longue durée ainsi que des comparaisons entre les sources biogalvaniques primitives, consistant en du métal nu, et celles qui mettent en oeuvre toute une variété de membranes anodiques semi-perméables.

Zusammenfassung

Die vorliegende Arbeit beschreibt Verbesserungen auf dem Gebiete de biogalvanischen Energiequellen, die deren Lebensdauer und Zuverlässigkeit bedeutend verlängern. Die Ergebnisse von Langzeit—in vivo—Implantationen werden dargelegt und Vergleiche zwischen den ursprünglichen, nur aus Metall bestehenden biogalvanischen Energiequellen und denjenigen angestellt, bei denen eine Reihe verschiedenartiger halbdurchlässiger anodischer Membranen verwendet werden.
