Quantitative analysis of amorphous and crystalline bone tissue mineral in women with osteoporosis

Summary

The data on the percentage of crystalline mineral and on the degree of mineralization of bone tissue, considered together, indicate three different types of osteoporosis, i.e., with hypermaturation, hypomaturation or with halastatic demineralization. It is also shown that fluoride therapy enhances the transformation of bone mineral from the amorphous into the crystalline phase.
