Abstract
Regional metamorphism is not the effect of granitic intrusions, but is part of a much greater phenomenon. The wider context to be considered must include the zones of closely assembled basic dykes, the mobilisation and migration of ions, the secondary intrusions as well as the migmatic and magmatic phenomena. The difference between the so-called „theory“ of largescale magmatic differentiation and the more prudent hypothesis of migmatic and magmatic evolution within structurally limited spaces is exposed and the possibility of a synthesis of the antinomies based on tectonical methods is shown.
