Summary

Immunofluorescence is a useful tool to acquire more insight into the pathogenesis of the glomerulonephritis. It is even of more importance that one can observe distinct glomerular patterns of immunofluorescence in correlation to the different manifestations of glomerulonephritis. Immunofluorescence histology is a helpful supplement for the routine histology in order to better classifiy glomerular diseases. In some cases the diagnostic potency of immunofluorescence is superior to the conventional histology.
