Abstract
The measurement of the RNA content was used as a convenient method for monitoring the growth ofCephalosporium acremonium in complex media containing solids. It was applied to fermentations of two mutant strains in fermenters and flasks. Pronounced differences in growth rate and cell yield were observed in the two cultivation systems.
