Abstract
The output power of a He-Ne-laser (λ=633 nm) has been measured as a function of the strength of an axial magnetic field. This function has intensity dips in the regions where the Zeeman splitting is equal to combination frequencies of different modes. These dips have practically the shape of the natural line. The effect enables to measureg-factors, because the Zeeman splitting can be recorded with a resolution, limited only by the natural line width without Doppler broadening.
