57. Symptomatik, Differentialdiagnose, operative Technik der intrathorakalen Struma

Intrathoracic goiter

Summary

The diagnostic procedure in intrathoracic goiter is the same as in other mediastinal tumors. Important data are obtained by szintigraphy of the neck and thorax region and venography of the vena cava superior.

Therapy: Removal by median sternotomy, and postoperative intensive care as is mandatory in thoracic surgery.

Zusammenfassung

Intrathorakale Strumen werden nach den Regeln der Mediastinaltumorchirurgie abgeklärt. Wichtige Untersuchungen sind: Szintigraphie der Hals- und Thoraxregion und die Venographie der oberen Hohlvene. Therapie: Exstirpation nach medianer Sternotomie und postoperative Intensivpflege wie bei thoraxchirurgischen Eingriffen.
