Summary

The endo-β-1,4-glucanase gene ofBacillus subtilis origin cloned previously in a plasmid pBS1 was subcloned in a new plasmid pSCR815, and with the new plasmidZymomonas anaerobia was transformed. TheBacillus glucanase gene expressed in theZymomonas cells with efficiency much lower than inEscherichia coli.
