Abstract
On Pt, substantial fractions of chemisorbed C2h4 can be converted to C3+ alkanes by subsequent hydrogenation. The absence of H2 during chemisorption is considered as the main factor favoring C-C bonding between adsorbed species, whereas its further addition permits higher alkanes to be released.
