Fully nonlinear ion-acoustic solitary waves in a magnetized plasma

Abstract

The propagation of fully nonlinear ion-acoustic solitary waves in a magnetized plasma with cold ions and warm electrons is studied analytically. Necessary conditions for the existence of solitary waves in such a plasma were obtained by Yuet al. In this paper necessary and sufficient conditions are found.
