Summary
The damage to organs seen in Goodpasture syndrome, which remains difficult to interprete as to its etiology, is similar to that occuring in special cases of heavy exposure to benzene. On the basis of a case study following benzene poisoning, as well as experimental studies on rats using normal and electron microscopic interpretation, it could be shown that poisonings with benzene deserve special attention due to their seriousness and poor prognosis, and that the clinical and anatomicpathological findings are similar to those of Goodpasture syndrome.
Zusammenfassung
Das in seiner Ätiologie noch schwer deutbare Goodpasture-Syndrom ähnelt den Organschäden, wie sie als besondere Verlaufsform nach erheblicher Benzinexposition auftreten können. Anhand eines Falles von Goodpasture-Syndrom nach Benzineinwirkung und tierexperimentellen Untersuchungen an Ratten mit licht- und elektronenmikroskopischer Auswertung konnte gezeigt werden, daß akute Benzinvergiftungen, die klinisch und pathologisch-anatomisch den Befunden des Goodpasture-Syndroms ähnlich sind, als schwerwiegende und wahrscheinlich prognostisch ungünstige Erkrankungen anzusehen und daher besonders zu beachten sind.
