Summary
A review is given on the applicabilities of microwave spectroscopy, which is suitable for gaseous multicomponent mixtures and is superior to other methods by its high resolving power and sensitivity. After an introduction into the principles of theory and apparatus, the molecular specificity of the microwave spectrum and the method of double resonance spectroscopy are discussed and the possibilities of quantitative analysis are pointed out.
