Abstract
Waste water from dyes manufacturing plant or from textile printing and dyeing mill may contain intensely colored and toxic chemical materials. Such coloring materials are of broad categorical chemical structures. In order to deal with this problem in the biotreatment process, we have found four bacterial strains, each with broad spectrum decolorizing ability. Their decolorizing effect includes the three popularly used synthetic dyes: azo, triarylmethane and anthraquinone. All the strains harbored plasmids relating to the decolorizing function.
