Abstract
This paper examines “established” models that are used for correcting point distributions into block distributions. This is known as the “change of support” effect, and is commonly characterized by a “variance correction” factor. Mining takes place at a very different volume (usually called Selective Mining Unit, or SMU) than the volume of composites.
