Abstract

It is indicated how pulsed fields from transducers, as used for imaging and echo analysis, are quite different in practice from the continuous fields described in most text books. The propagation of pulses within the eye is discussed with particular emphasis on scattering and reflection. Some tissue characterisation methods are also discussed.
