Abstract

C. lansium is indigenous to and commonly cultivated in Southern China – Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, South Guizhou, Hainan, Sichuan, South East Yunnan and North to Central Vietnam. The fruit has been introduced to southeast Asia, i.e. Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Outside this region it is occasionally grown in India, Sri Lanka, Australia (north Queensland, Northern Territory), the United States (Hawaii and Florida) and in Central America.
