Die Neuropsychologie ist ein relativ junges Berufsbild, welches sich mit der Beziehung zwischen den Funktionen des Gehirns einerse its und dem Verhalten und Erleben ander er seits beschäffigt. somit ist sie zwischen den Fachber eichen der Psychologie und Neurologie anzusiedeln. Verhalten wird dabei relativ we it gefas st , inkludiert neben Motorik auch so genannte. „höhere kognitive Leistungen” wie Aufmerksamkeits- und Konzentrationsfähigkeit, Lern- und Merkfähigkeit, Sprachverständnis und -produktion, Lesen und Schreiben, komplexe visuelle Fähigkeiten, schluss folgern des Denken, Handlungsplanung etc., umfasst aber auch die Persönlichkeit des Menschen.
