Abstract

Considering the early stages of lung cancer, we encounter numerous terms in the clinical and pathological-anatomical literature, such as: occult carcinoma, microcarcinoma, microfocally invasive carcinoma, miniature carcinoma, microscopic carcinoma, “minute” carcinoma, early cancer, tumorlets, stage 0 and 1 carcinoma, symptomless, and nearly invisible carcinoma (review of literature in Eck et al. 1969).
