Zusammenfassung

Bei der Diagnostik der Lungentumoren kommt dem Pathologen eine entscheidende Rolle zu. Der Kliniker erwartet vom Pathologen mit einem gewissen Recht, daß er ein klares, meist auf histologischen Kriterien basierendes Urteil fällt. Therapie, Krankheitsverlauf und Prognose hängen maßgeblich von der histo-pathologischen Diagnose mit Einordnungen zu einer Tumorgruppe ab. Mit modernen Untersuchungsmethoden ist heute fast jeder Lungentumor der Materialgewinnung zugänglich. Das Urteil des Pathologen hängt aber ganz ent¬scheidend ab von Auswahl des Entnahmeortes, Repräsentanz und Größe der Proben sowie Erhaltungszustand und Fixierung des entsprechenden Untersuchungsgutes (s. Kapitel XI. B. IV., Thorakoskopie und Pleurabiopsie, S. 356, dieser Teilband).
