Zusammenfassung

Bis vor wenigen Jahren konnte die Diagnose eines linksventrikulären Aneurysmas nur pathologisch-anatomisch sicher gestellt werden; lediglich große Aneurysmen waren röntgenologisch zu erfassen. Eine gesicherte Diagnose intra vitam war erst nach Einführung der Koronarangiographie und Lävokardiographie Anfang der 60er Jahre möglich. Einen entscheidenden Durchbruch bei der nicht invasiven Diagnosestellung brachte schließlich die Echokardiographie in den 70er Jahren (Weyman et al. 1976). Therapeutische Konsequenzen ergaben sich nach einzelnen geschlossenen Aneurysmektomien von Likoff u. Bailey (1955) durch die Operation mit Einsatz der Herz-Lungen-Maschine (Cooley et al. 1958); weitere Fortschritte waren die gleichzeitige Revaskularisations-Operation und der Einsatz der Kardioplegie (Rivera u. Delcan 1979).
