Abstract

The arteriovenous malformations of the spinal cord, mistakenly regarded as a rare condition, are more frequent than is thought. The more routine use of spinal angiography has allowed the revelation of minimal malformations which were not seen on myelography, or the revision of such erroneous diagnoses as myelitis or myelomalacia. Thus, 150 malformations have been collected in 15 years from 3000 spinal angiographies.
