Spirituelle oder religiöse Orientierung und deren Auswirkung auf die psychotherapeutische Tätigkeit

Zusammenfassung

Befragungen von Psychotherapeuten zeigen, dass sich deren persönliche spirituelle bzw. religiöse Orientierung in vielerlei Hinsicht auf deren psychotherapeutische Tätigkeit auswirkt. Der Frage, in welchem Ausmaß und in welcher spezifischen Art und Weise solche Einflüsse zum Tragen kommen, soll auf Basis der vorliegenden empirischen Befunde genauer nachgegangen werden. Hierbei fällt auf, dass die diesbezüglichen Daten im internationalen Vergleich über verschiedene Psychotherapeutenpopulationen und Forschungsmethodologien hinweg ein recht konsistentes Bild ergeben. Die spezifischen Implikationen dieser Befunde scheinen bis dato weder in hinreichendem Maße theoretisch reflektiert noch weitergehend empirisch untersucht, geschweige denn systematisch genutzt zu werden. Von daher sollen abschließend die Implikationen dieser Forschungsergebnisse diskutiert werden.
