Professionalisierung wird im Dritten Sektor unter dem Damoklesschwert organisationaler, ökonomischer und politischer Veränderungen diskutiert (J. Evetts, 2003), während früher die traditionellen Professionen, ihre Regeln und Standards als „dritte Logik“ neben Markt und Bürokratie konzipiert wurden (E. Freidson, 2001) und damit gerade für zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen hohe Attraktivität besaßen.
