Zusammenfassung
Ethnische Ungleichheiten im Zugang zu Arbeitsplätzen halten sich weltweit hartnäckig. Eine langjährige Forschungstradition hat untersucht, in welchem Ausmaß Diskriminierung eine Rolle bei der Formung solcher Arbeitsmarkt-Disparitäten spielt (Pager/Shepherd 2008). Mit dem Begriff Diskriminierung werden dabei unterschiedliche soziale Prozesse gefasst, die letztendlich zur Folge haben, dass eher zugeschriebene Ethnizität als meritokratische Leistungsprinzipien den Zugang zu Erwerbsarbeit regelt. Ich beziehe mich im vorliegenden Aufsatz – im Sinne einer exemplarischen Analyse – auf einen Spezialfall der Stellenvergabe, der sich, wie noch zu zeigen sein wird, für die Untersuchung von Diskriminierung besonders eignet: Die Vergabe betrieblicher Ausbildungsplätze in Schweizer Klein- und Mittelbetrieben.
Der vorliegende Aufsatz wurde anlässlich zweier Forschungsaufenthalte am Laboratoire d’Économie et de Sociologie de Travail (Aix en Provence) sowie an der Adam Smith Research Foundation (University of Glasgow) durch ein Stipendium des Schweizerischen Nationalfonds (SNF) ermöglicht.
