Zusammenfassung

Dort, wo sich die Erziehungswissenschaft nach wie vor als gesellschaftstheoretisch informiert und gesellschaftskritisch aufgeklärt versteht, ist gegenwärtig eine zwiespältige, gleichermaßen von Ambitioniertheit und Ratlosigkeit geprägte Haltung festzustellen. Dies manifestiert sich etwa in folgender Weise: Wird in einem ersten Zugriff noch die „Unvermeidlichkeit der großen Ambition“ (Winkler 2006: 264) für den Bereich der Pädagogik herausgestellt, so folgt im nächsten Schritt bereits das Eingeständnis der „Relativität des Prinzipiellen“, die bestenfalls „vorsichtige Empfehlungen“ (Winkler 2006: 283) erlaube. Nimmt man die auffällige Zahl von Arbeiten hinzu, die in jüngster Zeit einen Anstoß zur „Neuorientierung“ des Fachs oder zur „Neubestimmung“ seiner normativen Ausrichtung liefern möchten, dann verfestigt sich der Eindruck, dass im Gebäude der kritischen Erziehungswissenschaft Renovierungsbedarf besteht.
