Abstract
As discussed in Section 8.2 and also made clear in preceding chapters, FN and fibrin deposits formed on solid surfaces during blood clotting can serve as adhesive substrates for cells (Grinnell et al, 1980; Grinnell and Phan, 1983). It is now clear that FN—fibrin deposits play an important role in wound healing phenomena involving several different cell types.
